Need

Underground electric cables use dielectric oils that can leak over time, releasing between 50 L/week to several thousand L/week — harmful to the environment and costly to repair.

Traditional leak-detection techniques (line freezing, pressure testing, visual inspection) are slow and imprecise.

The Tracer Concentrator system solves this by enabling rapid, mobile, ultra-sensitive detection of PFT tracers, identifying leaks within hours and reducing environmental and operational impact.

Qualification

Wasson-ECE developed the Tracer Concentrator in partnership with one of the largest U.S. utility companies.

Our tracer technology supports instruments operating across 8 countries worldwide and integrates seamlessly with Agilent analytical systems for proven reliability and accuracy.

Differentiation
  1. Unmatched Sensitivity — Detects perfluorinated tracers at femtoliter/liter (fl/L) or PPQ concentrations, surpassing standard GC analysis performance.
  2. Mobile Dual-Trapping Design — Continuous sampling over miles of route with results every 100 seconds; enables near real-time leak detection while in motion.
  3. Integrated GPS and Software Analytics — Each result is GPS-tagged and automatically mapped (“leak”/“no leak”) using Google Maps integration for immediate visual insight.

Wasson-ECE Tracer Concentrator combines precision, automation, and rugged mobility in a CE-certified package.
